SYRACUSE CORVETTE CLUB, INC. CONSTITUTION

I.
NAME
The name of this organization shall be the Syracuse Corvette Club, Inc.
II.
PURPOSE
As Corvette owners, we band together in a social organization for the purpose of gaining information, exchanging ideas,
and for the mutual enjoyment of the Corvette sports car.
III.
QUORUM
A quorum, consisting of one-eighth the membership, must be present to conduct any business at a meeting. Amended

IV.
MEETINGS
Meetings shall be held at the time and place designated by a majority vote.
V.
ELECTIONS AND NOMINATIONS
1.
Nominations for officers shall take place at the first meeting in October.
2.
Officers shall be elected at the meeting following the nomination meeting.
3.
A member can hold only one office.
4.
Election of officers shall commence with the office of the President, continuing with offices of Vice president, Treasurer,
Governor, Secretary and Newsletter Editor, Historian, Webmaster and E-Mail Director. When an individual is elected to an office,
their name shall be struck from any subsequent offices on the ballot. If necessary,
nominations will be accepted to fill the ballot for any offices that had all nominations struck. Amended

VI.
OFFICERS AND THEIR DUTIES
The officers and their respective duties shall be as follows:
1. PRESIDENT: Shall take charge of
meetings, interpret the Constitution, and represent the club at civic affairs.
2. VICE PRESIDENT: Shall assume the duties of the President in his absence, act
as Competition
director, act as the final governing body to all competition disputes, maintain a current record of
SCC competition and social points, enlist Corvette owners for Club membership, and work
closely with the President in keeping interest and enthusiasm at a high
level.
3.
TREASURER: Shall take the responsibility for the
collection and dispersal of all finances and keep a written record of all such transactions, give a report at each meeting
of SCC financial standing to date and also submit a copy
of the report to the Historian. Expenditures shall be governed by a budget which shall allocate expenditures by category.
The budget shall be submitted by the current Treasurer by the first meeting in January.
Any expenditure not covered under the budget shall be voted on by the membership.

4.
SECRETARY: Shall record the minutes of all
meetings and give the Editor and the Historian the minutes of all business meetings. Amended 2/02
5.
GOVERNOR NCCC: Shall represent the Club at all Regional affairs and any National affairs where funds
permit and shall maintain a record of the members NCCC points.
6.
EDITOR: Shall gather, collect and be responsible
for the printing and distribution of the monthly club newsletter.
7.
HISTORIAN: Shall keep records of all old minutes
and keep a scrapbook of news clippings,
announcements,
photographs, etc., pertaining to Club activities.
8. WEBMASTER:
Shall maintain the Syracuse
Corvette Club's official internet website. Will add
and remove information about the Club or Club functions in a timely manner. Amended 2/0
9. E-MAIL DIRECTOR: Shall receive all e-mail directed to the Syracuse Corvette Club and
forward
all e-mail with questions and inquiries pertaining to the Club onto
the appropriate Officer
or
Member(s)of the club that is/are best qualified to respond to it. Shall notify Club members of
any
last minute event of Club interest. An example: Last minute cruise, gathering or event
cancellations

EVENT CHAIRPERSON / CO-CHAIRPERSON and/or new member shall carry out all duty requirements of NCCC and be responsible for arrangements
and proper execution of the event. The chairperson must present the results to
the NCCC Governor, Vice president and Editor and assure that obligations to NCCC are met where applicable before credit for
the function may be received. All obligations must be met by an Event Chairperson
within fifteen (15) days of the event in order to receive points. Amended

All Sanctioned events will follow the
rules and/or regulations covered in the current issue of the National Council of Corvette Clubs Sanctioned Competition Program

2.
The event chairperson/co-chairperson shall carry out all duties required by
the NCCC and/or the SCC. He/she will be responsible for the arrangements and proper execution of the event. Amended

3.
The SCC, if required, will advance a set amount
of money to the chairperson to start an event. This set amount will be regulated by the club treasures budget. Amended 2/02
4.
Any event, which involves $350.00 or more, requires
both a chairperson and co-chairperson. Amended 2/02
5.
The chairperson or his/her representative must
report all financial transactions with receipts, monthly to the SCC Treasurer until the conclusion of the event. Amended 2/02
6.
The chairperson or his/her representative must
submit a monthly report/minutes of any event committee meetings. Amended

7.
The event chairperson/co-chairperson must present
the results of the event to the SCC Vice President, Newsletter Editor, Governor (sanctioned event), and to the general membership
by the next club meeting following the conclusion of the event. Amended

8.
If all or part of the proceeds of the event
will result in a donation to a charity or charities, the event committee will select them and the division of the Net proceeds.
The list of charities and the amounts given to each charity should be reported to the general membership by the next club
meeting following the conclusion of the event. Amended 2/02
VIII.
VOTE REQUIRED FOR ELECTION: A majority vote shall be required to elect any officer.
IX.
MEMBERSHIP
1.
Any Corvette owner holding a valid senior operator license in the state or province in which he or she resides is eligible
for membership in the SYRACUSE CORVETTE CLUB, INC. Ownership of a Corvette is
required only at the time of initiation into the Club. Should the person subsequently
dispose of said Corvette, he/she has ninety (90) days to repurchase one or the officers of the club may recommend his/her
continued membership, contingent upon continued activity in the club, subject to approval of the membership which will take
place ninety (90) days after said disposition.
2.
A new member shall be given voting privileges at the time their dues are paid.
3.
A member shall become eligible for membership in NCCC at the discretion of the SCC officers, at
which time the Club shall pay the NCCC dues out of the membership fees.
4.
Any person who has commended himself to the Club may be elected to the Club as an HONORARY member for one year by a
simple majority vote of the members present at any meeting. HONORARY members
are entitled to all club privileges except they shall not have the right to vote or hold office.
5.
For SPOUSE OR MATE to become a club member, they must pay club dues which gives them all privileges and responsibilities
pertaining to the club including voting and holding office. They may belong to
NCCC by paying NCCC dues.
6.
Members are eligible to hold office, have voting privileges, receive all meeting and event notices, and may display
the club emblem. There can be an absentee ballot used by any member.
7.
All Syracuse Corvette Club, Inc. primary club members will also be members of NCCC.
8.
All new members (of one year or less) are encouraged to help organize two events per year. Established members (of greater than one year) are encouraged to help in organizing one event per year.
X.
DUES
1.
Dues shall be approved by a two-thirds vote.
2.
The membership fee for the first year shall be the initial NCCC dues plus $10.00.
3.
Spouse and mate members will pay $10.00.
4.
Honorary members will not have to pay dues.
XI.
POINTS
SCC Social Points:
1.
SCC Events:
A member will chair or co-chair no more than three
social events per year for points. Examples of social events are car wash, outing, bowling party, party, picnic, car show,
caravan resulting 100 total miles or more.
Event Chairman- 20 Points
Co-Event Chairperson - 20 points
Committee Member /Worker -15 points
Day of Show Worker- 10 points
Members who have registered (i.e. car show) and attend the day of event- 5 Points
(as described in # 4 below. )
Members who do not register for an event but attend the event- 1 point Amended 2/05
2.
Meeting attendance - 10 points.
3.
Guest appearance or speaker - 10 points. Member shall receive 10 points
only once per year.
4.
Event attendance - 5 points.
5.
Special assistance to the Club in some internal function - 2 to 10 points depending on degree of act and may only be
given once during a season (amount to be determined by Club officers).

Workers Needed for Event:
20 Cars - 4 Workers
40 Cars - 6 Workers
60 Cars - 7 Workers
100 Cars or More –Appointed by Chairperson

Travel points - begin from Syracuse (150 miles round
trip) - 5 points
Except stated points to go by NCCC rules pertaining to workers and competition points to be
established before event. All competition and social points will stand as recorded after the second
meeting following the specific event.
Five (5) social attendance points shall be given at other Corvette club events if finish results are not
posted. If the results are available, competition points will be given for the event. Cars other than
Corvettes
are permissible for rallies.
XII. AMENDMENTS
1.
A two-thirds vote shall be required to pass an amendment as long as we meet the quorum requirements of Section III.
2.
The second meeting of the year shall include one-fourth the membership proposed changes and discussion of the Constitution. The next meeting shall include:
a. Discussion limited to the President
explaining proposed amendments.
b. Voting
on proposed amendments or acceptance of the Constitution as it stands in the absence of any proposed amendments.
3.
Election of officers, modifications of the Constitution will be voted on by a closed ballot.
4.
Be it resolved that the Constitution of Syracuse Corvette Club, Inc. be
amended to conform to the
NCCC National Bylaws to provide for a class of membership defined by NCCC as Dependent
Members with dues payable to SCC, Inc. in the amount of $5.00 per year, with full rights and
privileges as defined by NCCC with the exception that no Dependent
Member shall be allowed to
serve as an officer in SCC, Inc. Amended 2/93
XIII.
AWARDS
1.
Year End Awards shall consist of the following based upon the Club point system (Article XI)
a.
Social Awards
· First place male and female (includes free club and NCCC membership
for following year).
· Second place male and female.
b.
Competition Awards
· First place male and female (includes free club and NCCC membership
for following year).
· Second place male and female.
2.
An Awards Committee, appointed by the officers, shall take charge of the Year End Awards. Additional awards not specified in the Constitution may be presented at the discretion of the Awards Committee
provided the funding for such awards is in the budget.
IX CORRESPONDING
MEMBERS-
Corresponding Members
shall be a past SCC member in good standing who moves out of town and
joins their local
NCCC sponsored Corvette club who wishes to continue receiving a SCC newsletter.
An annual $10 fee
will be applied to this membership to cover postage costs. Corresponding
members will not
be SCC members and will not be able to hold executive office or have voting
