The September 11, 2007 meeting of the Central New York Car Club Association
was called to order at 7:02 by the President, Dennis Connor.
A discussion was held on our relationship with
the Syracuse Nationals and Right Coast
organization.
On the one hand our organization was founded with
the idea that we would stay at arms length from commercial entities. On the other,
the Nationals would not have been able to progress to the current state without our support.
As the people on the grounds we have been able to provide details to the management that improve the show each year
and make it the smoothly run show it has become. The price of this is that as
volunteers we still have expectations of rewards that may or may not be met. The
feeling is that we need more than just a handshake agreement at this point.
We are still waiting for a person or persons to
step up as the coordinator between the Association and the Right Coast. We are by no means looking to end our relationship.
We simply need to make some changes to keep it on track.
Dennis needs contact information for the guy that
runs the concession under the grandstand at the fairgrounds. We have agreed to
complain to him about his security staff but need information. He may be Gary
Bobbitt.
Board meetings may be put off until the first
of the year as we determine the current board members.
The Treasurer’s Report was read and placed
on file.
