August 23rd Gettysburg Kick-off

Fifteen Syracuse Corvette Club members in 8 cars ventured out as part of the New England Caravan on a week long trip to the National Corvette Museum 25th Anniversary celebrations in Bowling Green, KY. First stop: the Wyndam Hotel  in Gettysburg for check-in and first overnite. We welcomed one additional car and two members from Corvettes of Buffalo as part of our traveling "family".

August 24th Corvettes at Carlisle

Our group traveled the short distance from Gettyburg to Carlisle for the always anticipated Corvettes at Carlisle event. Enjoy the following beautiful photography of Fred Shattell which is the best visual journal.

August 25th Scenic Drive

Destination Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center in Roanoke VA by way of Skyline Drive in the Shenandoah National Park. This was a most beautiful day for this scenic drive. A lovely banquet welcomed us on arrival.

August 26th Back of the Dragon and Bristol Motor Speedway

Another beautiful day for the 32 mile, 438 turns (many of which are switchbacks) Back of the Dragon Drive. We eventually met up with the rest of the New England Caravan group at Bristol Motor Speedway for in field photo and laps on the track.

Evening found us at Meadowbrook Conference Resort and Convention Center in Kingsport, TN for dinner and overnite stay.

August 27th Destination Bowling Green

After a chilly, rainy trip, we arrived at the Holiday Inn where we were greeted with a box lunch and then on to the National Corvette Museum to begin the 25th Anniversay Celebration with the New England Caravan bench unveiling. So much to see and do at the museum including extended track time at the Motorsports Park. We also took a side trip to Nashville. Wonderful time for all as exhibited in the photos here.
